November Update

Muriel Lake

Been a while since I posted… My wife and I were on the road from September 15 to October 10, and soon after I went backpacking in the Sierra Nevada mountains near Bishop for a week. Since then I’ve been working on the house and yard, attempting to get caught up on about ten years of deferred maintenance. As I write this, I’m in a hotel near UCLA with my wife, who is recovering from cornea-transplant/cataract surgery this morning (it went well).

All that to say I haven’t had a lot of time to post any videos. I will get back to it, hopefully sooner than later. I just wanted to let you all know what’s going on.

If you have any suggestions for future videos, let me know in the comments.

Welcome back Carl! I certainly hope that your wife is doing well with her recovery and please give her my best. UCLA is a good facility and I’m sure she will have a speedy recovery. Stay well and hope to see you soon. Bob

  • Send my best to your wife on the cornea transplant and cataract surgery! I hope her recovery is going smoothly and she is blown away by how much better she can see.

A shop tour video would be interesting, not to mention a build video/video series about the making of that Nyquist adjustable table.

While I know it’s a pretty complicated process, I’d like to see a tutorial on the curved dovetail.

Beautiful pic! Glad your wife is doing well. I am hoping to get into backpacking this summer.

Re: woodworking, I’m trying to sharpen my card scraper using Paul Sellars technique. Does having a real burring tool work better than a cheap screwdriver to create the burr?

Thanks again for the lovely picture!
